“南周北郭”话南周

周俭雄


在中国体育收藏界有“南周北郭”之誉,指的是广东的周俭雄和北京的郭磊。“南周”周俭雄他那富有色彩的体育收藏之路又是那么引人关注。
今年五十多岁的周俭雄进行体育收藏已经四十多年,算是个老藏家了,当初刚读小学的他就被体弱多病的身体弄得连续三年要停学半年去看病,后来医生建议他多进行体育锻炼增强体质,于是他母亲有意识带他观看体育比赛以培养兴趣,并将每次观看比赛的门票保留下来,他写日记、作文都爱以体育为题材,就是这一张张体育门票把周俭雄带进了体育收藏的天地,而后来因为体育锻炼从此脱掉“病秧”帽子让他不但迷上了体育,也迷上了体育收藏。
由于他体育收藏起步早,也就有了丰富的藏品,家中有六个房间放满了他的收藏品。在他身上发生过许多有趣的事,既有早期他在中苏(今俄罗斯)边境用便携计算器和签字笔交换到奥运会火炬的故事,也有后来在小档主那里以非常便宜的价格买来珍贵的北京亚运会火炬的故事,而他最自豪的是北京奥运会奥运火种采集的第一天,他自制了纪念封从希腊奥林匹克火种采集地给朋友寄出,成为现场仅有的中国人自制的体育邮品。
拥有海量藏品的周俭雄并没有以体育收藏来“以藏养藏”,但经常会捐出一些藏品用于公益事业,他会为患白血病的运动员将自己心爱的藏品进行拍卖,拍卖款全部捐赠,也会为残疾运动员献出自己的爱心,而每年当地红十字会都会收到他捐出的体育藏品拍卖款,这对于还算是打工一族的周俭雄来说是难能可贵的。
长期的不懈努力也为周俭雄带来丰硕的收藏成果,数万件的体育藏品让他名声鹊起,中山、东莞、广州、香港都曾经以他的藏品为主搞过展览,他也有了自己的个人体育收藏品展示网站(www.58ab.com)  他说近年的主要精力还是放在整理藏品上,因为现在网站中展示的藏品只是其中一部份,好多还没时间整理呢。


In sports collectors circles, the “South Zhou & North Guo” reputation has become household known, referring to Zhou Jianxiong from Guangdong and Guo Lei from Beijing. And Zhou Jianxiong’s colorful sports collection journey is so interesting.
The fifty-year-old Zhou Jianxiong has been doing sports collection for more than forty years, having regarded as an senior collectors. In elementary school, he got suspended for six months for three consecutive years because of his frail body. Then the doctor advised him to take more physical exercise, hence to strengthen the physical fitness. So his mother intentionally cultivated his interest in watching sports. He kept every game tickets afterward. His diary and essay would choose sport as a theme. It was a sport ticket brought Zhou Jianxiong into the world of sports collection. Later because of physical exercise, he got away from the illness. And he not only fell in love with the sports, but also fell in love with sports collection.
Because he started early in his sports collection, he have extensive collections and his has six rooms are filled with his collection. There are many interesting things happened on his journey of sports collection. In his early ages, he used portable calculator and pen to exchange the Olympic torch on the China-Soviet (now Russian ) border. And later he bought a precious Beijing Asian Games torch at a very cheap price from a pawnshop. His most proud moment would be the first day of Beijing Olympic Games torch-fire collection. He made a commemorative envelope to be sent to friends from the Greek Olympic torch-fire collection. He became the only Chinese people on-site designed homemade sporting philatelic souvenirs .
With the possession of huge amount of collection, Zhou Jianxiong did not live by his sports collection, nevertheless he frequently donated some of his precious collections for charities. For leukemia athletes, he would donate all the money from his beloved collections’ auction. He also donated money for disabled athletes. Every year, the local Red Cross will receive his collections auction money. For a ordinary worker like him, it was  commendable.
Through long-term unremitting efforts, Zhou Jianxiong also brings fruitful collections achievements. Tens of thousands of sports possession helped him win the reputation. There were exhibitions in Zhongshan, Dongguan, Guangzhou and Hong Kong mainly based on his collection. He also has his own personal Sports collection website (www.58ab.com). he said his main attention now is on sorting the recent collections. Because now the website only shows part of the collection. It needs more time to sort them out.
